Agates are a prime example that God/Universe is an artist. Their mesmerizing banded patterns and beautiful polish finish make them a well sought after stone from before 3000 B.C. Agate is a banded chalcedony that belongs in the Quartz family. What is a chalcedony, you ask? Chalcedony is a mineral made up of colored and sometimes patterned Quartz grains. Chalcedony is differentiated from common Quartz because of it’s naturally threaded grains opposed to regular quartz with a sugar-like grain. Neither of the Quartz hold less or more energy, they are just different in how they form.
Agates are found all over the world but today Brazil is the mining location that produces the most sources. Visit Tehechi Finds Mining Locations section to know exactly where our crystals are mined. Agates were originally founded in Sicily and are named after the Achetes River. The unique agate patterns are a result of iron, manganese, titanium, and nickel traces found in the stones.
What healing properties do Agates possess?
Although Agates don’t necessarily hold less energy, the energy of agates tends to be slower and more stabilized than other crystals. In this case, slow and steady wins the race due to agate’s ability to create stabilization by helping to balance polarities in any given Agate. Agates bring forth both Yin and Yang benefits to promote healing that allows you to feel whole. Agates are used in spiritual practice for gradual growth and longevity and are recommended to be worn more frequently for longer effects over time. Tehechi Finds LLC has a variety of marvelous Agates available in the shop tab each with their own unique healing properties - let’s go through them together. Blue Lace Agate
Blue lace agate is predominantly used to heal the throat chakra because of the courage it gives you to speak your truth. This agate is banded in the intricate patterns of light blue and white and depending on where they are formed, they may include druzy compartments. Blue lace agate helps you follow the agreements, “is it calm, is it truthful, is it necessary,” when responding and listening to the truth of others.
Crazy Lace Agate
Crazy lace agate is best known for promoting physical strength and stability, connecting you with your core - solar plexus chakra and root chakra. Mostly found in Mexico, this agate is known as the “happy” or “laughter” stone absorbing emotional despair and guiding you to a higher vibration while maintaining a steady energy.
Carnelian Agate
Carnelian agate has received much well deserved attention lately for it’s title as the sexual and creative stone. Associated with the sacral chakra with it’s fun fiery red and orange color. Carnelian does not always form as an agate but when it does it’s incredible banded and laced pattern is sure to catch the eye. Tehechi Finds has both Carnelian Agate towers and palm stones listed in the shop.
Moss Agate
Moss Agate is not your traditional Agate because they do not have banding but they are chalcedony with dendritic (tree or branch like structure) inclusions. Moss agate, mostly growing in India, is a moss green colored mineral with healing towards persistent action and grounding. This agate will help you open or balance your root and heart chakras. Some moss agates appear to embody their own natural landscape with greenery, lakes, shores, and/or snow.
White Agate
White Agate like most white stones bring a sense of peace and positive vibrations because of their angelic look and feel. White Agate helps you fight depression by clearing any blockages from all chakras. White Agate is a symbol of duality, harmonizing both sides and is known as the "ultimate pregnancy stone" for it's connection to expecting mothers and babies in the womb - protecting them both from harm.
Agates present such a wonderful world and Tehechi Finds would like to share a piece of their world with you. Agates are one of my favorite crystal groups because they take on their own life form in appearance and energy. The crystalline lineage is innately special but Agates shine a bright light on how special they can be! It’s no surprise that I’m not the only crystal lover that feels this way about agates. The fluidity of Agates attracts the attention of jewelers, crystal décor enthusiasts, spiritualists and even animals from high and low!
