We've made some recent changes to our Cleansing & Care page and here's why:
More than 4000 stones have been discovered all over the world! That variety of God's finest artwork is both astounding and mysterious. Because there is still so much to learn about crystals we are choosing to encourage our customers to receive the knowledge we share on a "case by case" basis opposed to "one size fits all." Information on how to properly spiritually and physically cleanse crystals is changing yearly with further research. And we want to make sure we always provide you with accurate and careful information. Starting January 2022 there will be biweekly blog posts that will discuss ALL THINGS CRYSTALS including how to care for your precious babies. Keep reading to ensure the safety of your crystals!
So you need to cleanse...
We've created a section specifically for tips on how to cleanse, charge, and care for your crystals. The cleansing of your crystals is an important and necessary step because of all of the energy your crystals will come in to contact with before it meets the owner (you). You want to start your crystal relationship off with a clean slate! As your crystals assist you in your healing process they deserve the very best treatment! We recommend you follow your spirit and tailor your crystal maintenance to how you connect with them but we are always here to help.
There are so many ways to cleanse...
-
Always start with intention
-
Himalayan Pink Salt (24 hours)
-
Salt Water (by the ocean or at home)
-
Sage/Incense (not white sage)
-
Place crystals under running water
-

Some crystals can't go in water
If the wrong crystal goes in water they may rust, dissolve, lose color, or cause the finish to dull. We do not want that! Crystals that have high iron content should be treated with caution. Most crystals should still survive if placed in water for a short period of time but avoid this if you can. There are plenty of stones that do just fine submerged in water and some that will depend on the temperature of the water. When physically cleansing stones you may want to use water. Click on this cleansing techniques chart and find your crystal for proper cleaning. If you do not find your crystal it more than likely cannot be submerged in water.
Some crystals are sensitive to sunlight
If the wrong crystal is left in the sun for a long period of time they will fade, change color, get dry and brittle, or crack. To prevent this from happening please view the list of crystals that cant be in the sun.

-
Rose Quartz (color fade)
-
Amethyst (color fade)
-
Fluorite (attracts heat)
Some crystals can't be placed in salt
If the wrong crystals are placed in salt they will erode, crack, or lose texture. You can always use the "no contact salt method" by placing your crystals in a small glass container that is surrounded by salt OUTSIDE of the container.
Cleansing v Charging
Cleansing is the act of stripping away stagnant or unwanted energy from your crystals at the beginning of your crystal relationship to set the intention of your crystal experience.

Charging, which is usually done under the sun or moon, is done to reactivate, improve, or maintain the relationship you have developed with your crystals.
